Tacoma Plant Hosts the “Building Bridges” Seminar
For the first time since 2019, Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. Tacoma Plant had the pleasure of welcoming Pacific Dreams Inc. to lead the “Building Bridges seminar.
The seminar explored the differences in business culture and communication styles between the U.S. and Japan, with the goal of fostering a hybrid work environment where the strengths of both cultures can coexist in a productive and collaborative way.
Two separate sessions were held—one designed for Japanese expats aiming to better understand American business practices, and another for American employees to gain insight into Japanese business culture. In addition to the presentations, Mr. Sakai introduced interactive case studies featuring hypothetical workplace scenarios. Attendees worked in groups to discuss and propose solutions to these challenges, applying the concepts introduced during the sessions.
Participating in the seminar was a valuable opportunity for attendees to deepen their cultural understanding, enhance communication skills, and build stronger, more cohesive working relationships with each other. Events like these reflect CMA’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and collaboration in an increasingly globalized workplace. We look forward to hosting more in the future.
