Toray’s Annual School Supply Drive Events to Support Children from Local Schools
Recently, GA led a back to school supply drive fundraiser where all supplies went directly to Bethel School District students who are a part of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. This was direct support towards retention of underprivileged youth. Before the start of the new school year, employees from the Tacoma Plant filled buckets with donated school supplies set up at each breakroom, and purchased selected kits of supplies. The campaign was successful due to the generosity of the many employees here in Tacoma. Our employees contributed drawstring bags, headphones, pencils, binders, notebook, crayons, glue, and other school supplies totaling 201 items. 13 employees also participated in kit purchases, which provided another 559 items in donations. CMA in Tacoma was able to present 560 items of school supplies to the children of Bethel School District. This campaign went well and was well received by Bethel School District because of the kindness of the Tacoma Plant employees. Thank you so much for your warm hearts and continued generosity!
CMA Decatur plant participated in the 2024 Stuff the Bus school supply drive hosted by United Way of Morgan County. This was our first year participating in quite some time and it was a huge success. This school supply drive empowers students in Decatur City, Hartselle City, and Morgan County Schools to have a great school year without having to worry about purchasing supplies. We collected essential items for back to school and set up donation areas around our facility. Our employees donated crayons, pencils, notebooks, glue, paper, backpacks and many other supplies. On Monday, July 29th United Way of Morgan County came to collect all of our donations. They were excited and so grateful for such a large donation. Giving back to our community is what it’s all about and our Decatur team made it possible. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
The United Way Stuff the Bus Drive was successful this year thanks to the generous donations of our employees. This is our sites fifth year participating in Stuff the Bus Drive and we ended up collecting 39 backpacks and various supplies that were listed. Our backpacks get delivered to schools all over Spartanburg county and will help alleviate the financial hardship some families face during back to school time. This drive will involve elementary schools in 7 different districts that collectively have over 2600 kids. Contributing and giving back to our community remains very important to our site and all of our employees, and I love seeing how excited people get to contribute to the various donation drives and campaigns that we have every year!
