CMA Decatur Plant Gives Back with “Day of Caring”
United Way of Morgan County’s largest volunteer event of the year, Day of Caring, was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. This annual day of service brings together individuals, civic groups, and businesses to complete meaningful projects at nonprofit partner agencies throughout Morgan County. CMA Decatur was able to give back to the community with the participation of 12 employees and donation of landscaping supplies. They participated in two landscaping projects in Decatur.

Six CMA Decatur employees volunteered at Crisis Services of North Alabama. This organization provides free and confidential services for people who have and are experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, or mental health issues. Some of the services include emergency shelter, crisis hotlines, and transportation needs. CMA employees trimmed bushes and mulched flower beds at the Crisis Services office. We also provided 50 bags of mulch for use on this project.

The other CMA Decatur employees washed two minibuses and pressure washed sidewalks, entry, and porches at The Mental Health Center of North Alabama. The Mental Health Center provides personalized counseling services for individuals of all ages and also families. They also provide additional services such as transportation to clinics and residential programs, in-home treatment, and on-site services at local schools.
The 2025 Day of Caring was a huge success with over 120 volunteers working more than 700 volunteer hours at 22 projects across Morgan County. CMA Decatur is proud and grateful to have contributed to these projects to make a difference in Morgan County. We look forward to participating again next year.
