U.S. Representative Comes to Toray Composites America

March 07, 2013

There are many firsts involving Representative Denny Heck.  First time Congressman from the first election in Washington’s new Congressional District 10, the first created since the 1990’s.  The 10th District includes the north half of Thurston County, part of Mason County, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and South Pierce County up to Puyallup. TCA is within District 10.

Prior to his present position, Denny Heck had been a House Majority Leader in Washington State and served five terms.  He was also Chief of Staff for Governor Booth Gardner from 1990 to1993.

On February 19, 2013 TCA had the pleasure of hosting a VIP visit by Representative Denny Heck, his District Director Roel van der Lugt and District Field Representative David Bremer.  The tour of TCA’s production facility was a first also, the first full tour by a government official.  The tour included receiving, resin mixing, filming, pre-pregging, and slit-rewind.  Representative Heck has a down-to-earth manner and is very much interested in hands-on work with businesses in his District.  All three of these gentlemen are easy talk with and are interested in resolving federal issues affecting Washington state and TCA.  His first federal appoint was to the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, a rare appointment for a freshman Representative.  TCA looks forward to a good relationship with Representative Heck in both Washingtons.
